#Challenge
MANN+HUMMEL FT Poland — manufacturer of FILTRON and WIX Filters brands, producing over 90 million filters annually for European markets — needed to migrate two major international websites (filtron.eu and wixeurope.com) from a custom Sulu CMS / Symfony stack to Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
The scale of the challenge was significant:
- Two separate international brand websites with distinct visual identities
- Multi-language content across multiple European markets
An advanced product search engine deeply integrated with the legacy Sulu/Symfony stack — impossible to migrate in a single phase
- Strict requirement for 100% uptime throughout the entire migration
- AEM components delivered by the primary vendor required rework and restyling before go-live

#Implementation
#Implementation
The project was executed in two major phases over three years.
Phase 1 — filtron.eu
We began with a full audit of the existing Sulu-based architecture and content structure. AEM components delivered on the staging environment required significant rework — we rebuilt and restyled multiple components using HTL (Sightly) and CSS/JavaScript to match the target design. Content migration was executed in stages, with parallel environments running simultaneously to allow rollback at any point.
Phase 2 — wixeurope.com
Building on the patterns established during filtron.eu, the WIX Filters brand migration followed a refined process — additional custom AEM components were developed, content was migrated across language versions, and the staging-to-production pipeline was optimized based on Phase 1 learnings.
Cloudflare Traffic Routing
The advanced product search engine — built on Sulu CMS and Symfony with multi-language framework support — could not be migrated simultaneously due to its complexity. We designed and implemented a Cloudflare-based traffic routing solution that seamlessly directs users between the new AEM environment and the legacy search system. From the user's perspective, both parts of the site appear as a single coherent experience.
SEO Migration & URL Architecture
A critical component of the migration was preserving and improving organic search visibility across all European markets. During the phased transition via Cloudflare, we designed a custom URL architecture based on filter naming conventions, product categories, and application types — ensuring that both the new AEM environment and the legacy Sulu system served semantically consistent, crawlable URLs.
For each migrated section we implemented a comprehensive 301 redirect mapping — covering thousands of legacy URLs across both filtron.eu and wixeurope.com. All redirects were validated against Google Search Console data to prioritize pages with existing organic traffic and backlink equity. Cloudflare routing rules were configured to handle redirect logic at the edge, minimizing server load and ensuring redirect chains were eliminated before go-live.
